Sunnyside Garden Centre is a well-established garden centre located in Ibstock, offering a diverse selection of garden plants, outdoor furniture, homeware, and gifts. In addition to its extensive range of products, Sunnyside provides a variety of attractions and events, including a welcoming café, seasonal workshops, and family-friendly activities.
The Objective
Sunnyside Garden Centre & The Adventure Building needed a renewable energy solution to support their expansion. The site has high electricity consumption, especially with a new soft play area, adventure golf, and larger restaurant.
They wanted to reduce business emissions while futureproofing energy costs.
The Solution
After a detailed site assessment, Alt-Group developed a tailored PV solution for each building:
- Garden Centre: 73kW solar system with a 50kW export limit + an additional 11kW system.
- Adventure Building: 149kW solar PV system to support high energy demands.
Alt-Groups early involvement in the design phase helped maximise the roof’s potential, ensuring optimal energy generation.
